'67 Mercury Cougar XR-7

Idag fick vi hem de interiördelar som saknades. Tidigare ägaren hade konstigt nog satt i en mittkonsoll från en Standardbil (skjutdörr), för att sedan ha sågat av den. Vi kan inte begripa varför, men tidigare ägare verkar ha haft tummen mitt i handen... Fattas skruvar lite här och var, och där det faktiskt sitter skruvar sitter det vanliga träskruv. Vi valde att ta bort hela mittkonsollen dels för att lättare få bort de gamla delarna, samt för att se hur det såg ut där under. Hittade diverse kablar som gått av men som inte såg ut att höra hemma någonstans. Vi hittade även orsaken till varför växelvisaren inte lyser, det verkar inte finnas någon armatur/lampa för den! Hittade även en knapp i sidan på mittkonsollen som inte var kopplad till något. Mycket mystiskt hittar man, men sen är ju bilen över 40 år gammal.

Är lugnt i skolan i helgen, så vi ska försöka få dit mittkonsollen igen med rätt delar.

Today we received the missing center console parts. The previous owner installed a standard center console (with the door), and then cut off the piece where the radio goes. We cannot understand why, but then the car is over 40 years old and the previous owner might not have had his thumb in the right place.
We removed the entire center console to make it easier removing the old parts. Under the console we found cables with no attachment, and they appear to go nowhere. We also found out why the lights to the shifter display didn't work, there appear to be none! We also found a button installed on the center console, again connected to nothing...

Hopefully we can get these things together again this weekend, and have a somewhat complete interior.
